What are the reasons for the AVENTOS lift system front not closing properly?

It is often the case that the lift system front for the AVENTOS HF does not close properly following adjustment. There are two potential problem situations here:

1) You have adjusted the gaps and then closed the telescopic arm. The front is protruding in the middle.

Blum AVENTOS HF front does not close

In this case, it is likely that the telescopic arm has been adjusted too short. To correct this, you must first loosen the telescopic arm again, then press the top front to the cabinet and pull out the bottom front slightly with your other hand. This will lengthen the telescopic arm. Attach both fronts, open them again and then close the telescopic arm.

 

2) You have adjusted the gaps and then closed the telescopic arm. The bottom front is protruding from the cabinet.

Blum AVENTOS HF front does not close

In this case, it is likely that the telescopic arm has been adjusted too long. To correct this, you must first loosen the telescopic arm again, then pull out the top front slightly and press the bottom inwards slightly. This will shorten the telescopic arm. Both fronts will now be protruding in the middle due to the arm being too short. Now press the top front to the cabinet and pull out the bottom front slightly with your other hand to readjust the telescopic arm to the correct length. Attach both fronts, open them again and then close the telescopic arm.

For older AVENTOS HF lift mechanisms, it may be that the front closes unusually quickly at the end of the closing motion. If it is not possible to correct this despite adjustment being carried out correctly, please get in touch with our contact partners in your country, so that we can assist you as swiftly as possible.

    Hello. We have a kitchen installation with some bi-fold doors, that are fitted with Aventos 25 lift and soft close mechanisms (left and right). On one cupboard the soft close mechanism has just failed completely, so in stead of closing slowly, as the door is lowered, it drops shut and bangs closed. As far as I can see from online information, there is no way of adjusting the soft close. Why has this suddenly failed (it did not go gradually) – and how can I readjust it, or do the units need to be replaced?

        Good afternoon,

        I have the same issue with the sofclose of one of my two folding doors in my kitchen. One folding door is still functioning perfect: the door closes softly. But the other door suddenly closes fast with a bang, no soft stop. This seems to be a know problem.

    I cannot get my servo drive HF to complete the reference run automatic SECOND run. I pus the center and the door lifts fully as intended, then closes. I understood this will occur in the reference run mode. However, it attempts to complete the second required automatic lift and it moves and inch and closes. Additionally, the switches will lift the doors as intended but after two seconds closes automatically. Can you assist in correcting this? Grateful for your reply, Kevin

    I have the arms in 2 cabinets and in one of them stops working smoothly is closing rough and whatever adjustment i tried nothing work, because the closing mechanism is controlled by a springs in the mechanism which can not be adjusted. I pushed the spring and looks like is very soft, not like on the other cabinet which is much harder to push.
    Your help is greatly appreciated

    I have a new bi-fold unit with your HF 28 system but cannot balance the arms as it shows in the instructions. Even at the limit of the least force (-) the doors bang up when opened. It seems like they have too much force.I am from Scotland.

      thank you for your question. A reason for your problem could be a too strong lift mechanism. For the AVENTOS bi-fold system we have 3 different lift mechanisms. Which mechanism you need depends on the height of the cabinet and the weight of the front and the handle.

    Hi, I have the same problem as the above customers. We have 2 dors one failed last year and the other failed last week. the second door failing prompted me to try to adjust the door but the soft close has failed and it is not possible to balance, even at minimum weight.

    Our problem is similar to the one discussed in this blog.
    We have bi-fold cupboards with Aventos HF lift (marked inside as 20F250x). It worked very well during 8 years, but now there is a problem with soft closing in two doors – when the door is lowered it just bangs shut.
    No problem with adjustment, it seems that BLUMOTION Soft-close units failed – but I don’t see such units in your catalog.

    I am having the same issue as described by others: the cabinet closes but the last part slams (that cost me 2 nice mugs that broke the first time that the cabinet slammed 🙁 )

    There is one difference: the model of mechasnism that i have is labelled: 20K250X (20K250M00 / 739.309.2 / 980.781 / F 0819-5)

    I did not find this element on your website yet your logo is on the mechanism.

      Hello,

      I actually sort of „fixed“ this.

      After looking around i found that the piece that is doing the buffer had fallen on the right side. So the buffering was only made on the left side and not enough so it slammed. The fallen buffer hat the metal that was twisted. I managed to straighten it and put it back in place. It seems to be working now. Is this a long term solution or just a short term fix that needs a permament one?

      it seems that in our case the lift mechanism is not adjust in a correct way. You will find here how to adjust the lift mechanism in a correct way.
      When the adjustment does not work out for you, you have probably the wrong lift mechanism in your cabinet. In that case, please contact your furniture maker.

      I am sorry that you have some problems with the AVENTOS HF. First please check the position of the bores of the locating pins. You find the correct position in our AVENTOS brochure
      In the next step please check if the telescope arms have the right length. You will find some further information in this post

    Hi, I have four Blum Aventos HF(25) hinges and, like many of the other posts on this site,one of my hinge sets no longer soft closes- it holds, but slams shut. The soft close has failed. I live in the Netherlands.

    I have 10 of the Aventos HF doors on my cabinets and one has suddenly lost the soft close ability. I have tried all the adjustments in your installation guide. The door stays open and will close, but, slams at the end if I do not hold it .I live in the US.

    I’m in Sydney, Australia. I also have several Aventos HF hinges installed in my kitchen. The soft close on one of them has recently stopped working and the door slams shut over the final 15cm of travel. The “soft close” mechanism can be easily depressed with my small finger, unlike the ones on the working cupboards which offer a lot of resistance to being compressed. It seems the soft close has failed.
    Would it be possible to have someone from Blum Australia touch base with me?

    One of my Aventos HF hinges is sticking when it is half closed. All other hinges are ok, all were installed at the same time. It makes a crunching noise and then won’t go any lower. Please can you advise how this can be fixed. I am in the UK.

    My Blum Aventos soft close has stopped working and the bi-fold doors (2 sets) now bang shut unless you manually soft close them by hand. I have two others that still operate perfectly.
    I have tried adjusting with no success.
    Kitchen is 18 months old.
    How do we adjust the soft close?

      To better understand your situation, I need more information about your application. Do you use an AVENTOS HF type, is this correct? Do you combine the AVENTOS unit with a SERVO-DRIVE (our electrical motion support system)? It could be that your units are broken, in that case our customer service will contact you.     Hello,

    I’ve mounted 3x servo drive for Aventos HF and no one is working, the reference run never starts after closing front doors and pressing it by hand. Wifi buttons were paired properly according to the specification.

    For older AVENTOS lift mechanisms, it may be that the front closes unusually quickly at the end of the closing motion. If it is not possible to correct this despite adjustment being carried out correctly, please get in touch with our contact partners in your country.
